GrandmotherS Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 14 tsp soda
- 14 tsp salt
- 1 c butter
- 1 c sour cream
- 12 tsp vanilla or butternut flavor
- 12 c chopped nuts
- ground nutmeg or mace
Directions
- Combine flour soda and salt
- Cream butter and sugar
- Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each
- Add dry ingredients to cream mixture alternating with sour cream and ending with dry ingredients
- Add flavor
- Generously grease and flour 10-inch tube pan
- Cover bottom of pan with nuts
- Spoon batter over nuts Sprinkle with nutmeg or mace
- Bake at 300 for 1 12 hours Remove from oven and remove from pan immediately
