Grandpa ChicoS Cornbread

Ingredients
- 1 c cornmeal
- 12 c flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 13 c milk or buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 14 c melted shortening
Directions
- Mix together dry ingredients in bowl
- Add milk and egg to the dry ingredients and mix the batter
- Then add melted shortening Stir gently to mix
- Bake immediately in a piping hot heavy skillet about 10-inches and bake in hot oven at 425 to 450 for 20 to 25 minutes
- Serve at once
- Makes about 6 servings
