Granny Deavers Spoon Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 c yellow cornmeal
  • 2 c boiling water
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs well beaten
  • 1 c milk

Directions

  1. Slowly add cornmeal to boiling water stirring constantly until thick and smooth
  2. Add butter and salt cool to lukewarm Then add eggs and milk
  3. Beat for 2 minutes
  4. Pour into greased casserole and bake in preheated 375 oven for 35 minutes or until golden brown
  5. Spoon out while piping hot and pass more butter
