GrannyS Chicken And Dumplings
Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 2 heaping Tbsp shortening
- 12 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients together then add shortening Mix until its a cornmeal type texture
- Add egg and enough water to make it a little wetter than pie crust dough Roll out onto floured board and cut into squares
- Drop into boiling chicken and broth Add salt and black pepper to taste and thicken broth with more flour
- Dumplings should be ready in 10 to 15 minutes
