GrannyS Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 12 c shortening
  • 12 c margarine softened
  • 2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 c buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 12 tsp salt
  • flour

Directions

  1. Cream shortening margarine and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy
  2. Blend in eggs vanilla buttermilk baking powder soda and salt
  3. Add flour gradually until mixture forms dough which can be easily rolled
  4. Roll to 38 inch thickness on floured surface
  5. Cut as desired
  6. Place on ungreased cookie sheet
  7. Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown Cool on wire rack
  8. Yield 6 to 8 servings
