Green Beans Au Gratin
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans
- 34 c shredded Cheddar cheese
- 34 c sour cream
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp butter or oleo
- 12 c bread crumbs for topping
- 2 Tbsp water
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp flour
Directions
- Steam green beans over lightly salted water until tender
- Set aside
- Melt butter in skillet and saute onions until brown Slowly add flour water salt pepper and lemon juice
- Let simmer 3 to 4 minutes
- Stir in beans and sour cream
- Mix thoroughly Place the mixture in a buttered casserole and top with Cheddar cheese and bread crumbs
- Bake at 350 for 12 hour
