Green Beans Au Gratin

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 34 c shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 34 c sour cream
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp butter or oleo
  • 12 c bread crumbs for topping
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp flour

Directions

  1. Steam green beans over lightly salted water until tender
  2. Set aside
  3. Melt butter in skillet and saute onions until brown Slowly add flour water salt pepper and lemon juice
  4. Let simmer 3 to 4 minutes
  5. Stir in beans and sour cream
  6. Mix thoroughly Place the mixture in a buttered casserole and top with Cheddar cheese and bread crumbs
  7. Bake at 350 for 12 hour
