Green Beans With Cherry Tomatoes
Ingredients
- 1 12 lb fresh green beans
- 1 12 c water
- 14 c butter or margarine
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 34 tsp garlic salt
- 18 tsp salt
- 14 tsp pepper
- 1 12 tsp chopped fresh basil or 12 tsp dried whole basil
- 2 c halved cherry tomatoes
- fresh basil
Directions
- Wash beans trim ends and remove strings
- Cut into 1 12-inch pieces
- Combine beans and water in a saucepan bring to a boil Cover reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes
- Drain
- Melt butter in a skillet
- Stir in sugar garlic salt salt pepper and basil
- Add tomatoes stir gently cooking just until soft
- Pour tomatoes and sauce over beans toss gently
- Transfer vegetable mixture to serving bowl garnish with fresh basil
- Yields 6 servings
