Green Mountain Gingersnaps
Ingredients
- 34 c shortening
- 1 c sugar
- 14 c molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 c flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp ginger
Directions
- Cream shortening in bowl
- Add sugar molasses and egg
- Mix thoroughly
- Sift remaining ingredients together
- Stir into creamed mixture
- Roll into small balls dip in additional sugar Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet
- Bake at 375 preheated for 10 minutes
- They will still be soft when you take them out
- They firm as they cool
- Makes about 5 dozen
