Greens With Hot Dressing

Ingredients

  • lettuce and spinach greens
  • 1 or more chopped green onions
  • 6 slices bacon cut into small pieces
  • 2 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 tsp light brown sugar
  • 12 tsp salt
  • dash of black pepper about 18 tsp

Directions

  1. Wash drain and dry lettuce and greens
  2. Add chopped green onions set aside
  3. Fry bacon in a large skillet until crisp drain
  4. Set aside skillet with the hot bacon fat still in it Combine the vinegar water sugar salt and pepper in a bowl From the reserved skillet pour off all but about 3 tablespoons of hot fat
  5. Pour the vinegar mixture into the skillet
  6. Place skillet over the hot coals bring mixture to a boil
  7. Remove from heat and pour over the lettuce and spinach greens
