Grilled Tomatoes With Oregano
Ingredients
- 5 large tomatoes ripe
- 1 Tbsp plus 10 tsp peanut or vegetable oil
- 5 tsp chopped fresh oregano or 2 12 tsp dried oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat the broiler
- Core the tomatoes and slice them in half
- Grease a baking dish large enough to hold the tomatoes with 1 tablespoon of oil
- Arrange the tomato halves in it cut side up
- Sprinkle each with about 12 teaspoon oregano and salt and pepper
- Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon oil over each half
- Broil for about 5 minutes
