Hamburger-Country Style Steak
Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger
- salt to taste
- 14 c flour
- 3 to 4 Tbsp plain flour
- 3 to 4 Tbsp melted shortening
- 2 c water
Directions
- Mix meat 3 to 4 tablespoons flour and salt shape into patties
- Roll each patty with rolling pin on floured board about 14-inch thick
- Brown on both sides in shortening
- Remove meat and pour off all but 2 to 3 tablespoons fat in pan
- Add 14 cup flour and allow to brown
- Stir occasionally
- Add water and cook until thickened
- Layer meat and gravy in casserole dish
- Cover and bake at 350 for 30 to 45 minutes
- Serves 5 or 6
