Heart Of The Nation Bread

Ingredients

  • 34 c sugar
  • 1 c shortening
  • 1 c boiling water
  • 2 pkg yeast dissolved in 1 c lukewarm water
  • 2 eggs beaten lightly
  • 6 c flour sifted
  • 1 tsp salt sifted with flour

Directions

  1. Cream together sugar and shortening
  2. Add water
  3. Cool
  4. Add remaining ingredients
  5. Cover and place in refrigerator for several hours or overnight
  6. Shape into rolls and let rise 2 hours
  7. Bake at 325 about 20 minutes or until lightly browned This dough may be stored in refrigerator for several days
