Hearty Whole Wheat Bread
Ingredients
- 2 oz yeast
- 1 heaping c lukewarm water
- 4 Tbsp honey
- 7 to 8 Tbsp margarine
- 14 to 12 c dry milk
- 2 to 3 Tbsp salt
- 2 big handfuls unprocessed bran
- dash of wheat germ
- 1 part whole wheat flour
- 3 parts bread flour
Directions
- Soften yeast in lukewarm water with honey
- Melt margarine in saucepan
- Cool slightly
- When yeast is bubbly add 4 more heaping cups warm water milk salt the melted shortening bran and wheat germ
- Mix and add flours the total amount will equal almost 5 pounds of flour
- Knead well
- Place in a warm place in greased bowl
