Hearty Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 oz yeast
  • 1 heaping c lukewarm water
  • 4 Tbsp honey
  • 7 to 8 Tbsp margarine
  • 14 to 12 c dry milk
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp salt
  • 2 big handfuls unprocessed bran
  • dash of wheat germ
  • 1 part whole wheat flour
  • 3 parts bread flour

Directions

  1. Soften yeast in lukewarm water with honey
  2. Melt margarine in saucepan
  3. Cool slightly
  4. When yeast is bubbly add 4 more heaping cups warm water milk salt the melted shortening bran and wheat germ
  5. Mix and add flours the total amount will equal almost 5 pounds of flour
  6. Knead well
  7. Place in a warm place in greased bowl
