Herb Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 16 large mushrooms
  • 12 c chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp savory crumbled
  • 18 tsp pepper
  • 1 c fresh bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp finely chopped shallots or green onions
  • 12 c butter
  • 12 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Clean mushrooms
  2. Remove stems
  3. Chop stems finely
  4. Melt 14 cup butter in skillet
  5. Saute mushroom caps briefly on both sides Remove to shallow baking dish
  6. Melt remaining butter and saute stems and onions
  7. Remove from heat
  8. Add bread crumbs and remaining ingredients
  9. Toss to mix
  10. Spoon into caps
  11. Bake for 20 minutes at 350
