Home-Style Flank Steak
Ingredients
- 1 12 lb flank steak
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 c water
- 2 Tbsp snipped parsley
- 1 tsp sugar
- 12 tsp dried thyme crushed
- 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 12 c cold water
- 12 tsp Kitchen Bouquet
Directions
- Score flank on one side coat both sides with the 2 tablespoons flour
- In skillet brown meat in hot oil
- Season with a little salt and pepper
- Add bouillon cube 1 cup water parsley sugar and thyme
- Cover and simmer for 1 12 to 2 hours or until beef is tender
- Remove beef to serving platter
- Measure pan juices add enough water to make 1 14 cups
- Combine the 3 tablespoons flour and the 12 cup cold water
- Stir into the pan juices add Kitchen Bouquet and cook stirring until mixture thickens and bubbles Pour a little gravy over meat pass remainder
