Home Style Short Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb short ribs
  • 4 potatoes peeled and quartered
  • 4 carrots peeled and quartered
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp horseradish
  • 1 Tbsp prepared mustard
  • 2 Tbsp catsup
  • 1 c beef bouillon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 14 tsp pepper
  • 14 c flour

Directions

  1. In large skillet brown the short ribs drain
  2. Place next 3 ingredients in crock-pot
  3. Arrange ribs over vegetables
  4. Combine all remaining ingredients EXCEPT flour
  5. Pour over meat
  6. Cover and cook on low heat 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender
  7. Remove ribs and vegetables
  8. Turn control to high
  9. Dissolve flour in small amount of water
  10. Stir into sauce and cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes until thickened
  11. Serve with meat and vegetables
  12. Yields 4 to 6 servings
