Homemade Bread
Ingredients
- 1 c shortening
- 3 tsp salt
- 12 c warm water
- 8 c flour
- 13 c sugar
- 2 c milk
- 3 pkgs yeast
- 6 eggs beaten
Directions
- Heat and melt shortening
- Add sugar salt and milk
- Cool Add yeast that has been dissolved in 12 c warm water to cooled mixture
- Add flour and beaten eggs alternately beating well after each addition
- Place dough in greased bowl to rise until doubled
- Cover with cloth
- When rising is complete punch down and put dough in 4 greased loaf pans
- Let rise then bake at 350 until brown
- Takes about 35-40 minutes
- Butter crust when done
