Homestyle Chili
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 c celery sliced
- 12 c chopped green bell pepper
- 12 c chopped red bell pepper
- 1 28 oz can whole tomatoes undrained cut up
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 12 tsp black pepper
- 2 155 oz cans red kidney beans drained and rinsed
Directions
- In medium skillet brown meat with onion and drain
- Add all remaining ingredients except kidney beans
- Bring to a boil Reduce heat cover and simmer for 1 hour
- Add kidney beans simmer until thoroughly heated
- Makes 7 1 12-cup servings
- To cook in a slow cooker cook on high setting for 3 to 4 hours
