Honey Baked Lentils

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 2 13 c lentils
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 5 c water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 14 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 12 c chopped onions
  • 1 c water
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 13 c honey

Directions

  1. Combine in a Dutch oven or saucepan the lentils bay leaf water and salt
  2. Bring to a boil
  3. Cover tightly reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes
  4. Do not drain
  5. Discard bay leaf
