Hot Milk Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c sugar
  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 2 c sifted flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 c hot milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Beat eggs until light
  2. Gradually add sugar
  3. Blend thoroughly
  4. Fold in sifted dry ingredients
  5. Heat milk and butter
  6. Fold in the hot milk butter and flavoring
  7. Bake in greased and floured 9-inch layer cake pans in a 400 oven for 25 to 30 minutes
  8. Also bakes well in a tube pan
