Hot Pretzels
Ingredients
- 18 c hot water
- 1 pkg active dry yeast
- 5 c flour
- 1 13 c warm water
- 13 c brown sugar
- extra flour
- coarse kosher salt
- baking soda
Directions
- Heat oven to 475
- Grease cookie sheet
- In a large bowl mix the hot water and yeast
- Add water warm and sugar slowly
- Add 5 cups flour
- Stir until smooth not sticking to sides knead it
- Form dough into golf ball size balls and shape each into pretzels
- Fill a frying pan with water
- For each cup of water used add 1 tablespoon baking soda
- Place pretzels in gently boiling water for 30 seconds
- Take out of the water and place on cookie sheet
- Salt pretzels
- Bake for 8 minutes until golden brown
- Can be frozen before baking
