Hungarian Poppy Seed Nut Slices
Ingredients
- 1 c butter
- 1 egg
- 12 tsp cinnamon
- 12 tsp poppy seed
- 14 tsp salt
- 1 c sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 12 c almonds chopped fine
- 2 c flour
- 2 Tbsp sugar
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar add egg
- Beat 2 to 3 minutes add nuts and poppy seed
- Beat 1 minute
- Stir in flour and salt Refrigerate until dough is easily shaped into rolls
- Make 2 rolls
- Roll in sugar wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours
- Cut into 14-inch slices
- Bake on ungreased pan at 325 for 20 minutes or until slightly brown
- Store in closed tin
