Icebox Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg or 1 cake yeast
  • 1 c lukewarm water
  • 12 c sugar
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 c milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp melted Crisco
  • 5 c flour

Directions

  1. Mix yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water
  2. Let stand 5 or 10 minutes Add sugar salt and 1 cup milk
  3. Beat in eggs
  4. Add melted Crisco Then add flour and mix well
  5. Put 2 tablespoons melted Crisco on top
  6. Cover and let rise 4 to 5 hours outside of refrigerator Mash down
  7. Place in box overnight
  8. Pinch off small pieces and make a roll
  9. Place in muffin tin greased
  10. Rise twice in size Bake at 400 for 12 to 15 minutes
