Ingredients

  • 2 c sugar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c sifted flour
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 2 c shredded coconut
  • 12 c nuts
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 5 egg whites

Directions

  1. Cream together sugar egg yolks and margarine
  2. Stir in sifted flour buttermilk soda and salt
  3. Add coconut nuts and vanilla Fold in beaten egg whites
  4. Bake in three 8-inch layer cake pans at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes
