Italian Cream Cake
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 12 c oil
- 2 c sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 c flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 c buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 small can coconut
- 12 c chopped nuts
- 5 egg whites
Directions
- Cream together butter and oil
- Add sugar and beat until mixture is smooth
- Add egg yolks and beat well
- Combine flour and soda and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk Stir in vanilla
- Add coconut and nuts
- Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture
- Pour batter into three greased and floured 8-inch pans
- Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes
- Cool and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting
