Italian Cream Cake
Ingredients
- 1 c buttermilk
- 1 stick butter
- 12 c shortening
- 2 c sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 5 egg whites
- 2 c flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 small can coconut
- 1 c pecans
Directions
- Cream butter shortening and sugar
- Add egg yolks
- Combine flour and soda
- Alternate with buttermilk
- Beat egg whites until stiff
- Fold in egg whites coconut nuts and vanilla
- Bake in 3 greased and floured cake pans at 350 for 25 minutes
