Italian Cream Cake 2

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 12 c Crisco
  • 2 c plain flour
  • 1 small can coconut
  • 2 c sugar
  • 5 eggs separated
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c pecans

Directions

  1. Cream Crisco and margarine
  2. Add sugar and vanilla
  3. Add egg yolks one at a time
  4. Sift flour and soda together add to creamed mixture alternating with milk
  5. Add nuts and coconut Beat egg whites until stiff fold into the batter
  6. Pour into 3 9-inch greased pans bake for 25 minutes at 350
