Italian Sausage Sandwiches

Ingredients

• 20 italian sausages
• 4 large green peppers thinly sliced
• 12 c chopped onions
• 1 can 12 oz tomato paste
• 1 can 15 oz tomato sauce
• 1 c water
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 4 garlic cloves minced
• 2 tsp dried basil
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• 1 tsp salt
• 20 sandwich buns
• shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

1. In a large dutch oven brown sausages a few at at time discard all but 2 tbsp drippings Saute peppers and onions in drippings until crisp-tender drain Return sausages to pan along with tomato paste sauce sugar and spices Bring to a boil Reduce heat cover and simmer for 30 minutes Serve on buns top with cheese
