Italian Slaw
Ingredients
- 1 medium-size head cabbage
- 1 medium-size onion
- 1 34 c sugar divided
- 34 c vinegar
- 12 c oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 tsp celery seed
Directions
- Shred cabbage place in a large bowl in alternate layers of cabbage and thinly sliced onion rings
- Top with 34 cup sugar Bring to boil 1 cup sugar vinegar oil salt dry mustard and celery seed
- When mixture boils pour over cabbage
- Do not stir Cover let stand overnight or at least 6 to 8 hours
