Italian Torta

Ingredients

  • 1 qt plus 13 c hot milk
  • 34 loaf Italian sliced bread broken in pieces
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c sugar
  • 4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 c raisins
  • 1 medium apple grated
  • 3 Tbsp brandy

Directions

  1. Soak bread in hot milk
  2. Set aside
  3. Beat together eggs and sugar
  4. Add to soaked breadmilk mixture
  5. Add vanilla raisins and grated apple
  6. Add brandy last
  7. Bake in well-greased pan at 350 for 1 hour
