Italian Ziti Medley

Ingredients

  • 12 lb Italian sausage sliced into coins
  • 12 c butter or margarine
  • 1 c sliced mushrooms
  • 1 c green pepper strips
  • 13 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 14 c milk
  • 2 c shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 12 c grated Parmesan
  • 12 tsp pepper
  • 3 c cut ziti cooked
  • 13 c chopped onion may substitute onion powder 1 tsp

Directions

  1. In 4-quart saucepan brown sausage
  2. Remove from pan and drain
  3. Melt butter and cook mushrooms onion and pepper strips until tender but not brown
  4. Blend flour into vegetable mixture Gradually stir in milk
  5. Cook stirring constantly over medium-low heat until boil
  6. Boil 1 minute
  7. Blend in 1 12-cup Cheddar Parmesan and pepper until cheeses are melted and mixture is smooth
  8. Combine ziti sausage and vegetablecheese mixture Pour into buttered 2-quart casserole
  9. Sprinkle remaining 12 cup Cheddar on top
  10. Bake covered at 350 for 30 minutes or bubbly
