Jam Cake

Ingredients

• 1 12 c sugar
• 1 c butter
• 3 c cake flour or regular flour
• 5 eggs
• 1 tsp soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp cloves
• 1 tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp cocoa
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 c buttermilk
• 1 c raisins
• 1 c blackberry jam
• 1 c nuts chopped
• 1 c peach preserves
• 1 c strawberry preserves

Directions

1. Cream butter and sugar
2. Add 5 well beaten eggs
3. Sift spices baking powder cocoa and flour add alternately with soda-buttermilk mixture to the other ingredients
4. Add nuts raisins preserves and vanilla to batter
5. Bake at 375
6. This makes either a four layer cake or divide and make two cakes according to size of pans
