Jam CakeVery Old Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 c butter
• 3 c flour
• 2 12 c blackberry jam
• 1 tsp cloves
• 4 eggs
• 1 c buttermilk
• 2 c sugar
• 1 tsp soda
• 1 tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

1. Cream shortening and sugar
2. Add eggs and blackberry jam
3. Beat thoroughly
4. Sift flour measure and resift with soda salt and spices
5. Add alternately with milk to the first mixture
6. Beat well and pour into well-greased tube pan
7. Bake at 350 for about 55 minutes
