Jumbo Raisin Cookies

Ingredients

• 4 c all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp soda
• 2 tsp salt
• 1 12 tsp ground cinnamon
• 14 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 14 tsp ground allspice
• 1 c water
• 2 c seedless raisins
• 1 c shortening
• 2 c sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 c chopped nuts

Directions

1. Sift dry ingredients Add water to raisins and boil 5 minutes or until liquid has decreased to 12 cup Cool Cream shortening add sugar and blend well
2. Add eggs one at a time to creamed mixture beating well after each addition
3. Add vanilla nuts and cooled raisin mixture
4. Add sifted dry ingredients and blend well Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets
5. Bake at 400 for 12 to 15 minutes Makes 5 dozen
