Kansas City Vanilla Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp cornstarch
- 6 c milk
- 2 23 c sugar
- 4 large or 5 small eggs
- 34 tsp salt
- 1 13 oz can evaporated milk
- 1 pt whipping cream
- 3 12 Tbsp vanilla
Directions
- Mix cornstarch with 12
- cup of milk until smooth
- Add an additional 1 12 cups
- of
- milk
- and
- cook in double boiler until thick and
- smoothbeating
- constantly
- to avoid lumps Blend sugar eggs salt and evaporated milk in electric mixer Add hot cornstarch mixture and beat well
- Add whipping cream remaining milk and
- vanillaPour
- into
- gallon
- electric
- or hand-cranked type freezer
- Pack
- with ice and salt and freeze according to manufacturers directionsMakes 1 gallon
