Katie MaeS Cold-Oven Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 12 c Crisco
  • 3 c sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 c cake flour
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp baking powder
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp lemon

Directions

  1. Cream butter and Crisco then gradually add sugar creaming mixture well
  2. Add eggs one at a time beating after each addition
  3. Mix dry ingredients together and add these alternately with the milk to creamed mixture
  4. Add flavorings
  5. Place in a well greased tube pan which has also been floured
  6. Put in a cold oven
  7. Bake at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes
  8. Do not open oven the first hour
  9. Serves 21 or more
