Kentucky Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 2 12 tsp baking powder
- 12 tsp baking soda
- dash of salt
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 12 c margarine
- 34 c buttermilk
- 1 Tbsp melted butter
Directions
- Mix flour baking powder baking soda salt and sugar in mixing bowl
- Cut in butter or margarine with pastry blender until mixture resemble coarse crumbs
- Add buttermilk
- Mix quickly to make a soft dough
- Turn out onto lightly floured surface
- Knead a few times to make a soft dough dont overknead or the biscuits will turn hard and dry
- Roll out to a 6 x 6-inch square
- Place on ungreased baking sheet
- With knife cut dough into 12 even portions do not separate
- Bake at 400 about 15 minutes
- Dust with flour and melted butter
