Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 14 c margarine
- 14 c flour
- 2 c milk
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 6 slices bread toasted
- 6 slices ham
- 6 slices turkey
- 6 slices Cheddar cheese
- 6 slices tomato
- 6 slices bacon fried crisp and crumbled
Directions
- Melt margarine in pan over low heat
- Add flour stirring until smooth
- Cook 1 minute stirring constantly
- Gradually add milk and bouillon cubes
- Cover over medium heat stirring until thickened and bubbly
- Set aside
- Place toast in buttered 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish
- Top each with turkey and ham
- Spoon white sauce over meat
- Layer cheese tomato and bacon over sauce
- Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes
- Can use thinly sliced country ham or regular ham slices
