Ingredients
- 1 c chopped onions
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 Tbsp Crisco oil
- 1 lb extra lean ground beef
- 2 14 12 oz each cans stewed tomatoes no salt
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 2 tsp dried basil leaves crushed
- 12 tsp sugar
- 14 tsp black pepper
- 2 c low-fat cottage cheese
- 14 c chopped fresh parsley
- 8 oz wide lasagne noodles
- 1 c 4 oz shredded low moisture part skim Mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Cook and stir onions and garlic in Crisco until tender
- Add ground beef and drain if necessary
- Add tomatoes and tomato paste basil oregano sugar and pepper
- Stir until well blended Simmer 30 minutes
- Combine cottage cheese 14 cup Parmesan cheese and parsley set aside
- Cook noodles 7 minutes in unsalted boiling water
- Drain
- Heat oven to 350
- Layer all ingredients in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan
- Top with sauce and Mozzarella cheese Bake 45 minutes
- Makes 12 servings
