Layered Green Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce broken in bite size pieces
  • 1 c chopped celery
  • 1 pkg frozen green peas thawed and pat dry
  • 1 can sliced watercress optional
  • 1 c green onions or 1 purple onion
  • carrots grated optional
  • Lea Perrins Worcestershire sauce
  • Tabasco sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 c mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 8 oz grated cheese
  • BacOs

Directions

  1. Layer the first 5 ingredients in a square or rectangular glass dish in order given
  2. A layer of grated carrots may also be added Combine 1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing with Lea Perrins or a dash of Tabasco and 2 tablespoons sugar
  3. Spread over salad Sprinkle 8 ounces grated cheese next
  4. Sprinkle BacOs over salad next
  5. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight
  6. Serves 12 to 20 people
