Layered Ice Cream Dessert
Ingredients
- 34 c chocolate wafer crumbs divided
- 1 c butter or margarine
- 2 sq unsweetened chocolate
- 2 c sifted powdered sugar
- 3 eggs separated
- 1 c coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 qt vanilla ice cream softened
Directions
- Sprinkle 12 cup chocolate crumbs evenly in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan
- Set aside
- Combine butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan cook over low heat until melted
- Remove from heat add powdered sugar and beat 2 minutes at medium speed in electric mixture
- Add yolks beating until smooth
- Beat egg whites at room temperature until stiff peaks form
- Fold into chocolate mixture
- Carefully spoon mixture over crumbs and sprinkle with pecans
