Lemon Chess PieA Dessert Of Early Virginia
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
- 1 c sugar
- 12 stick butter melted
- 1 Tbsp white cornmeal sifted
Directions
- Beat the eggs with a fork or wire whisk and gradually add the sugar
- Add the lemon juice and rind mix well
- Slowly add all ingredients until completely blended
- Pour into an 8-inch pie shell and bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes or until brown or until a knife inserted into the filling comes out clean
