Lemon Cream Pie
Ingredients
- 34 c sugar
- 1 c milk
- 2 eggs separated
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 14 tsp cream of tartar
- 14 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- 2 Tbsp butter
Directions
- Combine 12 cup sugar and milk and heat
- Beat egg yolks
- Add flour combined with sugar and salt
- Pour into hot mixture and cook until it begins to thicken
- Add lemon juice and grated rind and cook 1 minute stir
- Add butter stir well
- Pour into baked pie shell
- Beat 2 egg whites combined with 14 teaspoon cream of tartar
- Add 4 teaspoons of sugar
- Beat until stiff
- Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes
