Ingredients

  • 13 c margarine or butter
  • 1 34 c all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 12 tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 12 c currants or raisins
  • 4 to 6 Tbsp milk
  • grated peel from 1 lemon
  • 1 egg beaten

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Combine flour sugar baking powder salt and margarine
  3. Cut with pastry blender until fine
  4. Stir in 1 egg raisins lemon peel and enough milk until dough leaves sides of bowl
