Ingredients

  • 34 to 1 lb ham cubed
  • 1 lb lentils
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 10 cup water
  • 14 tsp pepper
  • 14 tsp allspice
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 2 cups diced carrots
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 14 cup parsley flakes
  • 1 Tbsp salt

Directions

  1. In large kettle combine ham onion soup bay leaf lentils pepper allspice cloves parsley flakes and salt Bring to boil reduce heat cover and simmer for 1 12 hours stirring occasionally
  2. Add carrots potatoes and celery Return to boiling point reduce heat cover and simmer one hour or longer until ham and vegetables are fork-tender
