Lipton Pepper Steak
Ingredients
- 1 12 lb boneless chuck steak cut off all fat
- 2 Tbsp shortening
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 2 medium green peppers cut in strips
- 1 12 Tbsp flour
- 1 small can chopped mushrooms
- water optional 2 small cans tomato sauce and 2 c water
Directions
- Cut meat into thin strips 2-inches long
- In a large skillet heat shortening and brown meat trimmings
- Stir in onion soup mix and 2 cups water
- Cover and simmer 30 minutes until meat is tender
- Stir in peppers and simmer covered 10 minutes
- Blend cornstarch with 12 cup water
- Stir into skillet mixture Cook until thickened
