Louisiana Seafood Gumbo

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 2 Tbsp shortening
- 4 onions chopped
- 6 stalks celery chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cloves garlic chopped
- pinch of thyme
- 2 lb shrimp deveined
- 1 pt oysters and liquid
- 2 c crabmeat
- 3 cans tomato sauce
- cooked rice optional
Directions
- Brown flour in hot shortening in a Dutch oven stirring until smooth
- Combine all
- ingredients and let simmer
- Serve over cooked rice
