MagS Homemade Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 3 34 c sugar
  • 5 Tbsp flour
  • 1 14 tsp salt
  • 10 c milk
  • 10 eggs well beaten
  • 10 tsp vanilla
  • 2 14 oz cans condensed milk
  • 1 pt half and half

Directions

  1. Mix sugar flour salt and milk
  2. Cook in top of double boiler over simmering water stirring until slightly thickened
  3. Cover and cook 10 minutes more on low heat
  4. Add hot milk mixture slowly to eggs beating constantly
  5. Return mixture to top of double boiler and cook over boiling water for 5 minutes or until custard coats spoon
  6. Cool add vanilla condensed milk and cream
  7. Freeze in ice cream freezer
  8. Makes 1 12 gallons
