Manhattan Clam Chowder
Ingredients
- 5 strips bacon whole
- 2 12 c onions chopped
- 1 12 c carrots cubed
- 1 c celery
- 2 Tbsp parsley
- 2 c potatoes diced
- 4 small cans clams and juice
- 1 28 oz can tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp thyme
- 14 tsp pepper
- 6 c water
- 1 to 2 Tbsp sugar
Directions
- Cook bacon leave whole Saute onions in drippings Add rest of ingredients and cook until vegetables are tender
- Add clams Heat thoroughly Remove bacon and serve
