Maple Walnut Walkaways
Ingredients
- 1 pkg yeast
- 14 c warm water
- 2 c flour
- 18 tsp salt
- 34 c butter
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 12 c sugar
- 1 tsp each lemon and orange rind
- 12 c walnuts chopped
Directions
- Soften yeast in warm water
- Add flour and salt
- Cut in butter and mix until blended
- Roll 12 at a time into rectangle Beat cream cheese sugar lemon and orange rind
- Beat until fluffy
- Spread 12 on each rectangle
- Sprinkle walnuts
- Roll as jelly roll
- Place seam side down on greased cookie sheet
- Slit lengthwise 34 of the way through
- Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes
- Sprinkle with confectioners sugar
- Slice at an angle Makes 24 cookies
