Mary Imus Favorite Cake

Ingredients

• 3 c flour
• 2 c sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 6 Tbsp baking cocoa
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 34 tsp cinnamon
• 12 tsp allspice
• 12 tsp cloves or ginger
• 2 c applesauce
• 2 Tbsp white vinegar
• 1 c salad oil
• 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

1. Blend dry ingredients
2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well Pour into large rectangular pan or two 8-inch round layer pans Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes
3. May add chopped walnuts andor raisins
4. Sprinkle top with powdered sugar after baking or frost with light chocolate frosting
5. Stores well
